DC Interfaith Iftar
Inspired by the Se7enFast campaign (www.se7enfast.com), a few local interfaith friends are inviting people of different religious and non-religious backgrounds to fast and raise money for a shared cause in solidarity with the Muslim community on one of those days: 7/7/15
Although this event is free of charge, we encourage you to bring the money that you would have spent on food that day to donate to our collection for the DC Central Kitchen.* A super big “thank you” goes out to our sponsors: The Potter’s House, The Berkley Center, and CAIR, for making this event possible!
Come break bread with old friends and make some new ones as we enjoy a vegan meal picnic-style at Potter’s House in Adams Morgan.
Space IS LIMITED, so please RSVP in advance so that we can properly estimate how much food we’ll need. We will eat in the style of an indoor picnic so, don’t forget to bring a blanket to share!
*DC Central Kitchen uses food to empower minds, strengthen bodies, and build communities. They are America’s leader in reducing hunger with recycled food, training unemployed adults for culinary careers, serving healthy school meals, and rebuilding urban food systems through social enterprise.
